Pastor's Message - One Body in Christ

I am so excited to see what God is going to do with our Building Together program! It clearly states in 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body – Jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and all were made to drink one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many.” We are all one body of Christ working towards a common goal of reaching more people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe if this building is going to be built, it will take all of us being involved in some way. Whether it’s praying for the project, working on the project, or financially supporting the project. In the verses above we are reminded that we need each other. Paul uses the brilliant illustration of the human body to relate the working of the community of Christians. Even as every cell in a human body is linked by a common DNA code, the parts of our body (members) look different, work differently, and accomplish different purposes. There is great diversity in the body of Jesus Christ, both in appearance and function, yet each member is just as important as the other.

We are trusting in God’s provision and timing for funding this project. So, as we move forward in faith please ask, seek and find how God is going to use you to be involved in Building Together!

Contractor's Update

Working with our architect we completed the design development phase and have a preliminary site plan, building elevations, and a floor plan to accommodate roughly 300 people each service.

While we work together to raise the funds to support this project, the construction industry is experiencing tremendous growth. With high demand come increases in both material and labor costs. Payroll costs have increased 12% in the last year. Additionally, most contractors are working lots of overtime due to the shortage of skilled workers. Lumber prices have jumped up as much as 30% in the past year. We expect labor and material prices to continue to increase throughout 2018. We are all anxious to get started and look forward to sharing what we know about our project in future quarterly newsletters.
